Cooking classes and tuscany tours

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our cooking courses gives our persons on holiday a good service and the people can learn easily how to prepare italian food.
Our cooking courses combine the experience of the italian food in kitchen with the wine tasting.
There are cooking courses weekly, per 10 days, daily and week-end.
We'll pick up our vegetables directly from the kitchen garden and we'll make use the fruits of the earth for a creative cooking.
We'll prepare our dinner together following the traditional cooking, from the homemade pasta, and in particular the "fusilli of zia Carmela", "Pizza of mamma Gabriella", fish plates of Anna Maria, tuscany food and "game plates di Cesare", and then mediterranen cooking, roman cooking and napolitan cooking.
You'll learn how to taste white and red wine and how to combine it with italian food.

 

Placed on top of one of the hillock chains sloping down to the Arno valley, the villa is near Montopoli (province of Pisa) in the heart of Tuscany, with a stunning 360° view

A 10 days art cooking and vacation experience
Description
Arte e Mestieri is a group of italian artists interested to showing their rich cultural heritage with foreign tourists.This course was designed specfically for those people seeking an interactive creative experience.Trough hands-onstained glass and mosaic art creation and cooking instruction to wine tasting to guided tours of important art and istorical centers, they seek to immers the partecipants in all the wonderfull aspects of living that Italy is renowned for.
Located in the medieval village of Montopoli Val d'Arno in the geographic center of Pisa, Florence, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano, the partecipants will be accomodated in fine properties carefully rinnovated respecting the architectural heritage and tyle that Tuscany is kown for.
Program

1st day Arrival in the afternoon
2nd day Excursions and freetime
3rd day Excursions and instruction in mediterranean cooking
4th day Excursion to and guided tour of Lucca or Florence for all day
5th day Instruction and workshop in stained glass or mosaic art and freetime
6th day Excursion and instruction and workshop in stained glass or mosaic art
7th day

Excursion and instruction in roman cooking

8th day Excursion and class instruction in tuscany cooking
9th day Excursion and cooking and workshop in stained glass or mosaic art.
10th day Departure in the morning

per each person includes:
- lodge in double room with bathroom, meals (wine included)
- three cooking lessons
- three art lessons (instruction in mosaic art or glass art, or pottery)
- 1 dinner in a selected restaurant
- 6 half days excursions (art city wine tasting visiting the mopst famous Chianti producers excursions throug forest in search of fresh seasonal cooking)
- 1 day of guided art excursions to Lucca or Forence
- transportation from and to S.Romano Station or Pisa Airport.

1st day Arrival in the afternoon
2nd day Theoretical lesson on the use of plants in phytotherapy and cooking and art guided tour (Certaldo or San Gimignano or Volterra).
3rd day Practical lesson (search of the wild plants with walks in lands adapted) and cooking classes.
4th day Guided art town (Florence or Pisa). Dinner in a selected restaurant.
5th day Archeological excursion and cooking classes.
6th day Free-time .Cook your pizza in a farm house.
7th day Tour guided to Lucca. Dinner in a typical restaurant.
8th day Departure in the morning.

Short course on the use of the plants in phytotherapy and kitchen
The course is articulated in two lessons, one theoretical and a practical one.
 
A week-end schedule
1st day Arrival in the afternoon
2nd day Theoretical lesson on the use of the plants in phytotherapy and cooking. Tour guided to art town and dinner in a selected restaurant.
3rd day Practical lesson: it consist in the search of the "wild" plants with walks in lands adapted and the practical application in kitchen on the use of the cultivated plants and/or wild. Application in cooking classes.
4th day Departure in the morning

Wine Tasting

Timetable of the courses: in the morning (9:30/1:30) wine tasting visiting to a most famous Chianti producers.
Dinner (1:30 p.m.) in a selected restaurant.

Course of Art
A eight hours to learn, as you want, the art of stained glass, roman mosaic, decoupage, pottery decoration or raku in equipped laboratory.
The introduction of ancient arts in the daily life to renew the mostly limited and repetitive craftsmanship is the philosophy that inspires the courses of this ten-year experienced school. Moreover, it's a new discovery of the enjoyment of the beautiful things by seeing, touching, using them. It can be seen in the apprentices' works, as they get pleasure in approaching art and develope their own way to observe and express themselves.

Two morning or two afternoons (total hours eight) 9:30a.m. /1:30 p.m. or 4:00/8:00 p.m.
